What Does Intuition Actually Feel Like?
How to Tell the Difference Between Intuition, Fear and Anxiety
Have you ever had a feeling you couldn't explain and wondered whether it was your intuition speaking… or your fear getting the best of you?
I've experienced moments when I felt I knew something before it happened. I've also experienced anxiety so convincing that I imagined the worst and wondered if I was somehow sensing the future.
So how do we tell the difference?
In this episode of Reclaiming Her, we're exploring what intuition can feel like, why fear and anxiety can sometimes be mistaken for inner knowing, and what it really means to trust yourself.
I'll share personal experiences from my intuitive development, a surprising moment during a psychic development exercise, and the decision to step away from full-time teaching when I realized something in my life needed to change.
We'll also challenge the familiar advice to “feel the fear and do it anyway.” Sometimes growth asks us to step outside our comfort zone. Other times, fear or discomfort may be inviting us to pause, examine our boundaries and question whether the path we're on is sustainable.
Because fear isn't automatically a sign you're on the wrong path. But it isn't automatically a sign you're on the right path, either.
In this episode, we explore:
What intuition has felt like in my own life.
Why vivid thoughts and worst-case scenarios aren't necessarily intuitive messages.
How to question the difference between intuition, fear, anxiety and excitement.
Why blindly pushing through fear can sometimes mean ignoring your own needs.
How our personal biases can influence intuitive readings.
Five questions to help you pause, reflect and make more conscious decisions.
How to begin developing your intuition without forcing signs or needing every feeling to have an answer.
A question to reflect on this week:
When do you feel most connected to your own inner knowing? Is it when you're in nature, journalling, creating, moving your body or giving yourself a quiet moment to think?
Start noticing. You don't have to prove that every feeling is intuition. You can simply get curious about what you're experiencing and learn from it.
