Part 2 - What Was Already There
How Reiki helped me notice what I'd forgotten
When I first found Reiki, I thought I was learning a new healing practice.
I had no idea how much it would change the way I experienced myself.
After my first Reiki course, I immersed myself in learning and practising. I began using Reiki in my meditation and noticed how grounded, calm and connected it made me feel. But I was still questioning everything.
Was I doing it right? Was it actually doing anything?
Then I started practising Reiki on other people.
I began experiencing emotions, physical sensations and intuitive information that I didn't know how to explain. At the time, I hadn't studied psychic development or mediumship, so in my mind...
it was all Reiki.
And then something else began happening.
I started seeing flashes of light again.
I'd actually experienced things like that as a child, but somewhere around high school and university, they stopped — and I hadn't even noticed they were gone. Years later, as I became quieter and more connected to myself, I started noticing them again around people.
I started paying attention.
I noticed patterns.
I tested what I was experiencing.
I listened.
And slowly, I began to wonder whether Reiki had actually given me a completely new ability...
or whether it had simply helped me notice what had been there all along.
This episode is about that discovery — but it's also about something much bigger.
It's about what happens when you become quiet enough to hear yourself again.
The body you stopped listening to.
The intuition you kept second-guessing.
The curiosity you pushed aside.
The parts of yourself that may not be gone at all...
just waiting for your attention.
In this episode, I share:
Why I became fascinated with Reiki after my first course
How Reiki changed my relationship with my body
My first experiences noticing emotions and sensations while practising on others
The moment I realized I was beginning to experience things I couldn't explain
The flashes of light I started seeing again
The patterns I began noticing around people
Why I initially thought all of these experiences were Reiki
How I learned to notice, test, validate and learn
Why becoming a Reiki Master wasn't a finish line for me
What being a healer means to me
Why I eventually decided to teach Reiki
The question I think all of us can ask when something keeps calling us
A question to take with you:
What part of you have you been asking to be quiet so you can keep up with the life you've built?
You don't have to change everything.
Just listen.
Curious about learning Reiki?
I created my Reiki Level 1 course for the woman I was when I first heard the word Reiki — curious, unsure, and not knowing where it might lead.
It's self-paced, with a personal one-on-one attunement, so you can explore Reiki in a way that fits your actual life.
